Lighting and temperature will make or break a home. Strips Comfort is here to simplify your set up. Don’t let the ultra-thin and inconspicuous hardware fool you – inside is a highly accurate temperature sensor along with a light sensor capable of detecting up to 64,000 LUX. Just add the device to your Z-Wave hub to get instant monitoring via smart phone, computer, or tablet.
Let your schedule be the ultimate mix of comfort and efficiency. Whenever Strips detects a temperature drop below your set threshold, instantly trigger your Z-Wave thermostat to get to work. And when it gets too hot, automatically turn on your Z-Wave-enabled AC unit. Use the LUX sensor with Z-Wave light switches and bulbs to create precise lighting responses based on your schedule and the time of day. Walk into a warm glow every evening when you come home from work. Greet the lighting that makes you feel best every morning. Watch these subtle, personalized changes impact your mood and elevate your day.
Strips Comfort is highly configurable with a range of advanced settings that will customize your device even more. It’s equipped with a Z-Wave Plus chip for longer range (more than 130 feet!) and stronger connectivity. And its 10-year battery life changes the meaning of “set it and forget it.”
NOTE: Strips features auto-inclusion mode so make sure to read instructions or watch the video below before you start unboxing!
To get started with your Strips sensor, you’ll need to add it to your Z-Wave network. Strips Comfort will auto-include itself to your network to ensure a convenient installation process.
Put your Z-Wave controller into inclusion/pairing mode. If you’re unsure how to initiate inclusion on your controller, please refer to its dedicated manual as each brand is different.
Pick a spot to install your sensor, making sure it’s within range of your Z-Wave controller (also make sure it’s not on or near any metal elements). Bring the device within a few feet of that spot and remove the magnet from Strips. Your hub will automatically detect and include the sensor.
Once included, this is a good moment to test the device and make sure it’s reporting correctly. Expose it to a light source for about a minute and watch the device respond through your Z-Wave hub's smart app.
You can mount the sensor using either the included adhesive or the mounting plate. Depending on the method you choose, follow the manual exactly to ensure a long-lasting set up.
If anything goes wrong, you can always reset your sensor to factory settings.

This is the perfect sensor for my bathroom with a sky light as it allows me to change the starting wall dimmer brightness based on the luminance from this sensor. Its so small and thin I have it on the light fixture cross bar and it blends seamlessly. This is my first Z Wave device that is this small, I'm excited to see what other products will be this size.
I bought and installed my first Comfort Strip exactly 3 years ago, and it just ran out of battery. This is about what I expected: the "up to 10 years" of battery life is under (no doubt) ideal conditions, i.e. indoors. My Comfort Strip is located outside under my deck, and it gets cold in the winter - battery life is therefore not expected to be as good. Also, about a year ago my hub dies while we were on vacation, and spending a week in panic mode trying to connect to the hub drained the battery significantly (I estimate it cost me ~40% of the charge). All things considered, I'm very happy with the device. I just wish there was a way to swap out the batteries instead of replacing the whole unit.
It was working great but only for 2 years.
I used it during the cold spell in my furnace room a couple of years ago. I had left it there when I noticed the temp never changed. I went to get it and nothing. Battery was dead. I loved it while it lasted. I wanted to used it to drive a couple of solar projects, but I will use another product.
Bought 2 of these, one works well enough for it's purpose. The other one refuses to connect. I contacted smartesthouse for a replacement, they told me to go the manufacturer. I contacted Sensative, they told me to go back to thesmartesthouse. Eventually the manufacturer agrees to send a replacement after a month of back and forth, that one doesn't work either. Refuses to connect. $50 in the trash.
